Turn a Simple Pair of Glasses into Your Halloween Costume

October means it’s time for scary movies, lots of candy and Halloween costumes. Some people celebrate for their kids while others love the spooky feeling. Either way, a costume is a must. It’s easy to put together a Halloween disguise with everyday clothes and basic accessories. Plenty of people decide on a spur of the moment costume. Take any pair of glasses like these and create an instant Halloween look…

Circular Frames for Something Groovy

Let’s take it back, way back, to the ‘60s and ‘70s with some round frames. Circular glasses were a popular style during the hippie movement. Some famous faces who are well known for these frames include John Lennon and Janis Joplin. Pair some circular glasses, tie-dye clothes and lots of fringe to make a far-out Halloween costume.

Aviator Shades for an Official Face

Another pair of iconic glasses is aviator sunglasses. Aviator lenses are often coupled with pilots and police officers. Especially after the movie “Top Gun” was released, aviators became a trendy look in the late 1980s. Create a cop or flier costume for Halloween. Make your costume official with some aviator glasses, a novelty badge and a leather jacket.

Square Glasses for a Nerdy Look

The number one accessory for any nerd costume is a pair of glasses. The most iconic glasses that are associated with “nerd culture” is the thick all-black acetate frames. Of course, there is more to this costume than just the glasses. Remember to tuck in the shirt and clip on the suspenders for a nerdy outfit.

Colored Contacts for Halloween

If round, aviator or square glasses are not the right fit, then try a pair of colored contacts. These contact lenses come in a wide variety of colors and illusions. Take any costume one step further with these lenses. When shopping for colored contacts, make sure to buy from a reliable optometrist. Contacts can damage the eyes if not worn properly or not approved by the FDA. Always ask before buying.
